About Me

Scott Arveseth

Photo of Me

Welcome. I'm Scott — a Northern Utahan who finds clarity on a trail and peace under a starlit sky. This is my corner of the internet: part trail journal, part backyard philosophy, and proof that a man closing in on 60 can still shoulder a pack and disappear into the backcountry.

Based in the shadow of the Wasatch Mountains, my best days involve running shoes on dirt, a lake or summit in view, and a camp stove whispering under a sky full of stars. When I'm not out there, you'll find me with a good book, tending the garden, or plotting the next escape.

The musings below are what happens when miles of trail meet a lifetime of surviving — a blend of science, history, lived experience, and the kind of thinking that only comes when you're far from a cell signal.

All writing and images are my own.

TRAIL END

Base Camp

South Jordan, Utah

Tucked at the foot of the Wasatch Mountains — where the trailhead is never more than 20 minutes away and the summit views make every climb worth the burn.
